Videos from the Galápagos Islands

The videos from our honeymoon to the Galápagos Islands are now ready.

In May we travelled to the magnificent Galápagos Islands to enjoy our honeymoon after getting married on Mount Everest Base Camp. A bit overdue we have finally put together the videos from this adventure.

In the first video we travel to the Galápagos Islands from Ecuador, give a tour of the cruise ship and visit to the islands Baltra, Santiago and Isabela, more specifically Mosquera Island, Las Tintoreras, Puerto Villamil, and Sierra Negra.

Some of the highlights were to swim with sea lions, hike up a volcano that is among the largest in the world of its kind and seeing the infamous Galápagos giant tortoises. Around the ship sharks were swimming and we got to see penguins at the equator!

In the second video we go ashore on the islands Rábida and Sombrero Chino, followed by Puerto Egas and Isla Seymour Norte before finally returning to Baltra where we started. Thankfully we are not ending our trip yet and continue onward after letting some other passengers off.

Some of the highlights were to swim with sea turtles and sharks! Yes, we have been swimming with white-tip reef sharks! Ashore we saw seals (which are a lot less common than sea lions here) and the amazing marine iguanas.

In the third and last video we set sail towards Islas Plazas, Santa Fé, Santa Cruz and finally several places on San Cristóbal, such as Punta Pitt and Puerto Baquerizo.

Some of the highlights were seeing land iguanas, both the “ordinary” kind and a unique species found only on the island of Santa Fé – and nowhere else in the entire world. Another big highlight was seeing Galápagos giant tortoises in the wild and walking through huge underground lava tunnels. Boobies also have to be mentioned! Both blue-footed and red-footed boobies are found at Punta Pitt and going there as the baby chicks just left their eggs made the experience even better.

Have you been tempted to visit the Galápagos Islands after seeing this? We will soon publish tips and information on what to know before you go and how you can plan a trip on your own to these fantastic islands!
